Application Instructions for Catholic School Teaching Positions

THE DIOCESE OF TUCSON

Chancellor

The Diocese of Tucson is seeking applicants for the position of Chancellor. Among the Chancellor’s duties are: administration of the Office of Chancellor; assist the Bishop on canonical matters; advise the Bishop on personnel issues; prepare and manage the budget for the Chancellor’s Office; oversee the safekeeping of diocesan records; supervise the Archivist; coordinate the process of annual reports from parishes; work with the Office of Child, Adolescent and Adult Protection; represent the Bishop as appropriate; work with other diocesan offices; and serve as diocesan director of the Propagation of the Faith. Additionally, the Chancellor directs the Tribunal and supervises the Tribunal’s two-person staff. Applicants must be in full communion with the Church and should have ten years experience in Church leadership (as a pastor or other significant leadership role) and at least five years of management experience in the Church. A licentiate or doctorate in canon law and /or a master degree in Theology is preferred. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred. The position will remain open until filled. Diocese of Tucson -- Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools

The Diocese of Tucson is seeking applicants for the exempt position of Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools. Under the direction of the Diocesan Superintendent of Catholic Schools, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Diocese of Tucson in its mission to evangelize and educate students in Catholic schools by providing leadership in the implementation of curriculum changes, in the implementation of Diocesan planned staff development opportunities, and in the planning and facilitating of principals’ meetings. The Assistant Superintendent will consult with and work collaboratively with the Superintendent in all aspects of education, including accreditation. Applicants must have excellent human relations and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and willing to work with co-workers in education ministry. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills including written, oral, public speaking and presentation skills. Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Education, in Educational Administration or Leadership, and must have a minimum of four years teaching and three years as a principal in Catholic schools. Most Holy Nativity Parish, Rio Rico -- Director of Religious Education (part-time)
Most Holy Nativity Parish is seeking applicants for the part-time (25 hours per week) position of Director of Religious Education. Most of the work will be conducted between the hours of 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., with some weekend work required. The person must be fully bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and must be computer literate. Responsibilities include religious education program administration, which includes curriculum planning, training and assignment of catechists and administration of finances. The individual selected must be a practicing Catholic with at least an associate of arts degree in business or public administration plus at least two years of experience as a practicing catechist in Catholic religious education. San Miguel High School is seeking applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Principal.  The Principal shall be the Chief Academic Officer of the school, responsible for leadership of all aspects of the educational program, including curricular and extracurricular activities. The Principal collaborates as a peer with the Director of Corporate Internship in directing the daily operation of the school and all interactions with enrolled students and their parents or guardians. A Master’s Degree in Education and at least three years experience in school administration are required.  pplicants must hold, or be eligible to acquire, certification as a secondary school principal in the State of Arizona. Fluency in Spanish is required. The individual selected must be a practicing Catholic. St. Ambrose Catholic School, Tucson -- Middle School Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher

St. Ambrose Catholic School, A Notre Dame ACE Academy, is seeking applicants for the exempt position of Middle School Language Arts/Social Studies teacher. The teacher will be responsible for teaching Language Arts and Social Studies to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. This position will require collaboration with other teachers on a daily basis, so the ability to work with others in a team environment is required. The successful candidate will be required to have at minimum, a valid Arizona teaching certificate or a willingness to obtain one within one year. Also required is an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Education. Preferred qualifications are possession of a 7 to 12 middle school/secondary teaching certificate in Language Arts/English and Social Studies/History, and experience teaching both language arts and social studies, teaching at the middle school level, and experience working with an instructional team. The Diocese of Tucson Bishop Moreno Pastoral Center is seeking volunteers for:

Clerical Assistance -- Volunteers will work on a variety of clerical assignments as needed, such as typing, filing, computer input, and various other assignments, including assistance with various Church events and liturgies.  

Reception Assistance -- Volunteers will work in the reception area handling telephone calls and mail processing, pickup, and distribution.
