Catechesis & Family Life
"Catechesis aims to bring about in the believer an ever more mature faith in Jesus Christ, a deeper knowledge and love of his person and message, and a firm commitment to follow him. In many situations, however, catechesis must also be concerned with arousing initial faith and sustaining this gradual conversion to Jesus Christ (NDC 2005)."
The family is the first and most vital cell of both Chrurch and society, and thus our catechetical and faith formation ministries must focus on strengthening the “domestic church”, with special attention to empowering parents.
The ministry of the Office of Catechesis & Family Life is to promote and guide the development of catechetical leadership in the Diocese of Tucson in collaboration with other diocesan offices and departments. This is accomplished by providing and coordinating training, certification programs for catechists, resources, and leadership development for parish leaders in the areas of catechesis and family life.
Divorce Healing Ministry
There's no such thing as "Catholic divorce" but the bad news is Catholics DO civilly divorce. We're here to help, and to encourage healing through the Sacraments where you'll personally encounter Christ—with all His love and tender mercies. And that's the REALLY good news.
The Catholic’s DIVORCE SURVIVAL Guide is a12-week program featuring 30-minute DVD shows each week that cover topics of shock, denial, anger, grief, guilt, forgiveness, money, the courts, the kids, the ex-spouse, annulment, dating, sexuality, spirituality, remarriage or staying single, and much more.
